Fire Walk 2018 - Conditions of Entry


In the event Fire Walk cannot take place on 23rd February 2018, every attempt will be made to arrange a new date. Refunds will only be made in the event that:-

(i) Fire Walk is unavoidably cancelled by the organisers (St Teresa’s Hospice).

(ii) this Agreement is cancelled by the organisers on the grounds that you have previously entered into one of our fundraising events, and failed to submit your sponsorship.


Once accepted, your place cannot be transferred to any other person. If you cannot attend the Fire Walk, you must inform the organisers in writing as soon as possible; places are not transferable for reasons of health and safety.

Entrants must be aged 14 yrs or over, on 23rd February 2018. Anyone aged 14 – 15 must have parental consent and must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of event, .

All participants are responsible for their own medical condition. If in any doubt about your ability to complete the Fire Walk, please consult your doctor prior to entering the event. Neither the organisers of the Fire Walk, nor our sponsors accept any liability for the health of the entrant. Disabled entrants are welcome to take part, although we ask you to please contact the organisers (01325 254321) prior to filling in this form, as some people with disabilities may not find the event feasible.

Walk It Sober! We ask all participants to please not consume any alcohol prior or during the event until they have completed the Fire Walk. This is of paramount importance to the safety of the event. St Teresa’s Hospice reserve the right to refuse any participant we feel are unfit to take part safely. If the organisers refuse a participant who is deemed unfit to walk due to being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or for any reason that might endanger other participants, we will not be liable for the loss of that walker’s sponsorship.

Neither the organisers, nor the sponsors have any liability in relation to Fire Walk. The organisers and the sponsors of Fire Walk, to the extent permitted by law, exclude liability for any loss, damage, injury, or consequential loss suffered by any entrant personally or to their property as result of their entry to or participation in this event.

Walk It, To Raise It! By taking part in the Fire Walk you are committing to raising money for St Teresa’s Hospice. You are not allowed to give your fundraising to any other charity (directly or via other fundraising websites). You are not permitted to use any of the sponsor money that you raise in relation to your entry in the Fire Walk to pay for your expenses. Not sending in any sponsorship raised from taking part in a previous event may result in the Hospice refusing to accept your entry or cancelling this Agreement. By completing the entry process you are agreeing to fully abide by the rules of the Fire Walk as they are communicated to you in advance and at the event.

By applying for a place in Fire Walk you are entering into a contract with St Teresa’s Hospice (the Darlington & District Hospice Movement) Registered Charity No 518394

Data Protection Act: St Teresa’s Hospice processes your personal data (as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”)) for the purposes of: your entry into events, keeping you informed about our charity, promotions and future events run by the Hospice, and fundraising. This may include using your photograph. Your name may also appear in press coverage of events.
